Umbul Pelem Waterpark: Fun and Refreshing Waterpark Tourism

Klaten is known as the city of a thousand springs. The existence of these abundant springs is not only a source of life for the local community, but also utilized as a water tourist destination called umbul. 

One of the famous umbul is Umbul Pelem. Umbul Pelem is located in Wunut Village, precisely on Tegalgondo – Janti, Wunut Village, Tulung District, Klaten, Central Java. 

Different from other umbul, Umbul Pelem presents a modern design with a waterpark concept that uses water sources from natural springs that continue to flow. This umbul, which is the centerpiece of Wunut Village, has many uniquenesses of its own.

1. Umbul Pelem Name

The name Umbul Pelem is taken from the Javanese word “Pelem” which means mango. Umbul Pelem was inspired by the presence of large mango trees growing near the spring.

2. Umbul Pelem Waterpark Concept

Umbul Pelem takes the concept of waterpark water tourism by sourcing from natural springs. With this concept, Umbul Pelem provides many interesting rides, including:

• Adult Pool
• Children’s pool
• Sand Park Pool
• Snow bath pool
• Sliding Pool consisting of a two-lane long sliding pool, a four-lane long sliding pool, and a short sliding pool.
• Fish therapy pool
• Flying fox

3. Water quality of Umbul Pelem

Umbul Pelem provides a refreshing swimming atmosphere through its well-maintained water quality and pools. Sourced from a natural spring that continues to flow, the pool water remains clear and does not sting the eyes. Every 4 PM,  the water in all the pools will be drained and replaced with fresh water every day. In addition, the ponds are cleaned daily and a thorough cleaning is carried out twice a week.

The Ticket Price and Operating Hours of Umbul Pelem

With a variety of water ride facilities that are quite complete, the ticket price for Umbul Pelem is very affordable. On Monday-Friday, the entrance ticket price is only IDR 8,000 and on Saturday, Sunday and national holidays, the entrance ticket price is IDR 10,000. 

Umbul Pelem is open every day with operating hours starting from 5 AM to 4 PM.
